Glimpses of past years

Top 20 students from all across the country were selected for the finale of Innovation Challenge 2018 held at IIT Bombay during Techfest 2018-19. The top 12 winners of Innovation Challenge 2018 were awarded an Educational Trip to Russia supported by ROSATOM where they witnessed the scope of Atomic Energy. The winners had to pay nothing for the trip but a lot of enthusiasm to absorb every single experience the trip was going to offer them. The other 8 winners were awarded a trip to Vikram Sarabhai Space Station, Thiruvananthapuram, where they witnessed the cutting edge Space technologies and observed what ISRO has to offer to the young innovative minds. They also got a chance to meet and interact with Shri S. Somnath the Director of VSSC, ISRO.

The face of litter in the country is rapidly changing, as the novel coronavirus disease extends its stay and spread. COVID-19 accounted for 33% of the biomedical waste generated in India when the country saw the highest number of new cases. This appears to have put pressure on an already overburdened biomedical waste treatment system. You need to come up with an idea to tackle the problem of Biomedical waste management generated during COVID times.

There are 2 stages in the competition. You first need to register and think about the problem statement.

Stage 1:
A mental ability test will be held to test your aptitude. After the test, You will be asked to submit your idea on the portal

Stage 2:
Top 20 students will be shortlisted who will present their ideas to the professors of IIT Bombay

  1. The idea presented by the participant should be original and not copied from somewhere
  2. The proposed solution should have the format as mentioned in the Problem Statement above.
  3. The decision of the organizers or judges shall be treated as final and binding on all.
  4. Techfest, IIT Bombay reserves the right to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in rules, if any, will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered students.
  5. No responsibility will be held by Techfest, IIT Bombay for any late, lost or misdirected entries
  6. Note that at any point of time the latest information will be that which is on the website. However, registered participants will be informed through mail about any changes.
  7. All modes of official communication will be through the Techfest e-mail. Participants are advised to keep track of all folders in their e-mail accounts.
