Indeed, our choices and decisions are what shape our life. Thus, in the competitive world of today, who wants to leave anything to chance? There is a science, a logic behind every decision, every choice, every action. The concepts and theories of Decision Sciences are used by the business tycoons to launch their new product, by bankers to decide their interest rates, by investors to choose the mutual fund to invest in, and by buyers to choose the product to buy. Decision Sciences apply mathematical analysis and models to enable the end-user to choose the option with the maximum "relative" benefit.
Techfest 2010 gives you an opportunity to learn the techniques of this novel science, to give you an edge over the rest, in the competitive world of today.

2.1 Content Outline
- The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants with the basics of Decision Sciences.
- The workshop would be divided into two days.
- The first day of the workshop would focus on introduction to decision sciences along with concepts of various modules and their uses.
- The second day of the workshop consists of allocation,distribution,maximum flow to sequencing modules along with case studies.

3.1 Eligibilty
Participants having a valid ID card of their respective educational institutions are eligible for the Decision Sciences.
3.2 Team Specifications
The exercises in this workshop can be done independently, so registration will be on an individual basis.
3.3 Pre Requisites
This is a basic level workshop and hence there are no pre requisites for it.
3.4 Short listing Criterion
Due to limitations on the number of people we can offer place at Techfest workshops, we follow a scrutinizing process. The participants will have to fill in a questionnaire based on which short listing shall be done.

- Name the file after the questions has been answered as DSxxxx.doc where DSxxxx is the team registration number. Attach the file and mail it to workshops[at]techfest[dot]org with your team registration number as the subject.

3.5 Payment Details
The cost of the workshop is Rs 1,200 per participant.
Details of the payment mode will be mailed to the participants after registration for the workshop.
3.6 Certificate Criterion
All participants should be present in all the sessions. Failing this, no certificate shall be awarded to the participant.
