Techfest Scholastic

Introduction
"The future of today is in the minds of tomorrow"
Technology need not always be about futuristic objects, complicated circuits and abstract theorems. Often the beauty or at times even the simplicity with which the basic fundamentals of science work to run this world does not fail to mesmerize people.
Techfest 2009 brings the very same astonishingly simple world of Science and Technology in "Techfest Scholastic" - the fest for young minds.
It is an experience of its own to imagine and be amazed at the possibilities science holds for us without going into the intricacies. So, all the young geniuses let your mind wander into the fantasy world and come up with "Whacky Ideas" in a first of its kind competition for grades 7 to 9.
Whacky Ideas Competition
Make a Model (Working/Non-Working) on an idea which you think can save the planet and make it a better place to live in. These models will be presented by the participants at IIT Bombay during Techfest 2009.
Some of the topics are listed below, but an idea which is not under these topics will also be accepted.
- Conserving Energy/ Using Non-Renewable sources of energy.
- Efforts to stop global warming.
- Bio-Diversity Conservation.
- Disaster management.
Note: Your idea need not be entirely original. However, your idea should contain at least some original or novel elements, and clearly present your contribution.
