2.1 Elimination Round 1

Via Online Screening

  1. The first stage is an Online Screening Stage. Each registered team will solve an online quiz. Top 15 teams will be short listed for the second stage at Techfest 2009.
  2. Accommodation will be provided to these 15 teams during Techfest at IIT Bombay.
  3. The Second Stage of selection is a written test. The details of this test shall be disclosed during Techfest 2009.

Via On the Spot Entries

  1. Teams consisting of two students can register on the spot and participate in the Elimination Round which will be held at Techfest.
  2. Top 15 teams will be short listed for the second stage at Techfest 2009.
  3. All students with a valid identity card of their respective educational institutes are eligible to participate in this round.

2.2 Elimination Round 2

The 15 teams from the online elimination and 15 from the on the Spot Elimination will compete again in a written test and the top 6 teams from these will be selected for the Grand Finale.


2.3 Grand Finale

Top 6 teams will reach the Grand Finale to be held on the second night of Techfest 2009. The number of rounds and marking scheme will be disclosed during SciTech Grand Finale.


NOTE: Online Screening Stage is not applicable for IIT Bombay students. In order to qualify for the Grand Finale, they need to participate as On The Spot Entry in Elimination Round which will be held on day 1 at Techfest 2009.

3.1 General Rules

  1. The teams must adhere to the spirit of HEALTHY COMPETITION. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team found indulging in misbehavior.
  2. Judges' decision shall be final and binding on all.
  3. The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered participants.

3.2 Team Specifications

A team must consist of 2 members. Participants are advised to form teams before registration, since the competition is essentially team event.


3.3 Eligibility

All students with a valid identity card of their respective educational institutes are eligible to participate in SciTech at Techfest 2009.


3.4 Certificate Policy

  1. Certificate of Excellence will be given to the top 3 teams.
  2. Certificates of Participation will be given to all the teams that are able to clear the Second Stage at Techfest 2009.
