"Unleash the Future"
It is that time of the year The time to say "thank you, all of you", the time to sit back satisfied and full, the time to reflect, the time to feel proud from within...
Techfest 2010 the action packed 3 days from 22nd 24th January were the most memorable ones in the lives of the Techfest Team. We hope we have made them unforgettable for you all as well, with the collection of the best and the latest in technology and science that we presented during these three days, in the IIT Bombay Campus. From the marvelous participation from Australia and Thailand in the World Challenge happening for the first time in the history of college festivals, to the maker of the Google Wave Lars Rasmussen delivering a lecture in the very own Convocation Hall of IIT Bombay, from the visitor toll reaching the highest in the history of the Festival to the eye-catching night shows and night installations - "scintillations", Techfest 2010 was, indeed, a dream realized.
The exhibitions depicting the cutting edge technology both from the international universities as well that from the institute, with the Indian Army and Navy commanding salutes from the visitors as they stared in awe at the magnificent display of missiles, were surely the most visited in the Festival. Lectures by luminaries like Mr Ajay Bhatt (co-inventor of USB) and Dr. Lyn Evans (Project Head, LHC, CERN), all the three Technoholix nights, the newly introduced segment boasting interactive installations, and the intercollegiate combat robotics competition Robowars the vengeance received an overwhelming response from the over 75,000 crowd coming for the festival. Techfest 2010 was complete with participants from over 2000 colleges in the country, and with visitors from all over the country as well as abroad.
We, as Team Techfest 2010, thank you all for your support and participation in the Festival, which kept our spirits alive and the festive mood on a high. We extend our gratitude to IIT Bombay and to our sponsors without whom, Techfest 2010 would be impossible.
Ofcourse, as the baton is passed to Techfest 2011, we promise you a bigger and a better version of our dear Science and Technology Festival next year, carrying on with the legacy of 13 years handed over to it.
- Team Techfest 2010
