2.1 Competition Structure
Level 0: A primer software has been provided so that you can get yourself acquainted with the software. A prerequisite knowledge of any CFD software is not required for the use of this software but some knowledge of basic fluid dynamics will be needed. The primer will be of an extremely basic level and will help a great deal for the other levels to come.
Level 1: There would be 4 problem statements of the same difficulty level covering various disciplines of engineering viz Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Chemistry. The participant can choose any problem statement according to his choice. The student edition of a CFD software would be made available along with these statements. It is recommended that you go through with the primer before attempting this part
The software would be up by October 7th, 2008. The exact problem statement are up on the first page of "Simulate".
The solutions would have to be submitted by 15th December, 2008.
Level 2: The finals would be held in main fest where the selected candidates would be given A VERY UNIQUE CFD SIMULATION problem to solve during the days of the festival.

3.1 General Rules
- The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in misbehaviour.
- Judges decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.
- The participants should use only the software provided to solve the problem statements.
- The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in any rule, if any, will be highlighted on the website.
3.2 Team Specifications
A team may consist of a maximum of 2 members. Participants from different institutions can form a team.
3.3 Eligibility
All students with a valid identity card of their respective institutes are eligible to participate in Simulate at Techfest 2009.
3.4 Certificate Policy
All teams which will clear Level 1 will get participation certificates. But certificates will be awarded only at Techfest 2009 after looking at their final level performance.

4.1 Software
To solve the Problem Statements, it is required to use only the CFD Expert Software provided here. However, it is advisable to try out the Primer Software to get well versed with the working of the software.
