2.1 Arena

  1. The arena consists of a table top of inner dimension 160cm X 120cm, coloured 'blue' (exact RGB values will be disclosed soon). The table will have a boundary of height 8cm of unison colour 'blue'.

  2. The holes will be surrounded by coloured ring of 10mm thickness.

  3. There will be six balls in all with three different colours namely red, green and yellow, two balls of each colour. The balls will be placed randomly in the arena.The balls have a approximate diameter of 5.4 cm and they weigh approximately 68 grams.

  5. The pictures taken using standard logitech web (for specification refer clause 2.1.9) are shown in Figure 3, 4 and 5.

  7. A stand will be provided to the participants for mounting the overhead camera in the centre of the arena.

  8. It is recommended that the participants should bring with them their own camera. Please intimate the organizers beforehand through email about the camera details (Resolution, Model number and company). Please cooperate with the organizers in this regard to ensure that the camera has no problems with the mounting system provided.

  9. An overhead camera will be provided with the arena as a backup. The camera details are as follows:

  10. CAMERA MOUNTING SYSTEM

    1. Participants have to build a mounting system for their camera.
      Refer Figure 8 for the details of the design for mounting plate.

    2. We will have a similar plate which will hang down from the ceiling. The height of this plate can vary from 7ft 3in to 8ft 3in.

    3. For the clamping of the hanging plate to the mounting plate we will insert 4 screws of 2in length (5cm) and 5mm diameter and bolt them on the mounting plate.

    4. You should keep a clearance of 4cm for the screws and bolt to fit in.

    5. Materials suggested :
      Plywood - 6mm
      Acrylic - 4mm to 8mm
      Aluminium - 2mm onwards


  11. A monitor (CRT), keyboard and mouse (USB 2.0) will be provided at the competition venue. Participants have to bring their own CPUs which they can connect to this system. The hardware will be compatible with a normal CPU.
