• The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants with basics of aeromodelling. Participants would be making an IC engine powered radio controlled glider.

  • The workshop would be divided into multiple sessions.

  • First session would consist of theory lessons where topics like Introduction to Aeromodelling, Basics of flight mechanics, common terminology, Control surfaces, Types of aircrafts, Types of gliders, parts of aircraft and explanation of structure of model adopted would be covered. It should be noted that these topics would be covered only till depth required for the workshop.

  • Second session would be devoted to making of the wing from the balsa wood. Instructions would be given and techniques of making the wings would be taught. Instructors would be present to help participants whenever required.

  • Third session would be devoted to making of the fuselage and mounting of IC engine and servo motors followed by making the connections.

  • In fourth session participant would test their aircrafts and would trim the designed wings and fuselage to stabilize the aircraft. After this final test runs would be taken.

  • This workshop would ensure that participants are able to make a powered glider all by themselves.
