Techfest Trophy!

Cheer teams from your college and boo the rest! Techfest 2008 will add a new dimension to inter college rivalry with the best college winning the Techfest trophy. Competitions at Techfest are not only about personal glory and prize money any more; your college’s pride is at stake too. Gear up for the battle of the colleges and catch the excitement as the fierce loyalty reaches its crescendo in January.

Rules for deciding the winner of the Techfest trophy are given below:

1. The point system for each competition is displayed below.




2. Points will be awarded to teams obtaining the first three positions.




3. In case of a tie the order of winners will be decided by a tie-breaker.




4. Cross-college teams are also allowed. For cross college teams the points will be split between the colleges whose students are members of the team considering the number of members in the team. For example if the team comprising three students from college A and two students from college B, wins the first position in Full Throttle: Grand Prix then the 300 points designated will be divided between colleges A and B. College A will gain 180 points because of the three participants whereas college B will gain 120 points.




5. In case a team with less than the maximum allowed members wins a position, then each participant will get that many points as in the case when the total points are divided amongst the maximum number of members allowed. For example if a team comprising 2 members of college A and 1 member of college B wins the first position in Full Throttle: Grand Prix, an event in which a team can have maximum 5 members with 300 points for the first place wherein each member will get 300/5 = 60 points, then college A with two members gets 120 points and college B with one member gets 60 points.
