2.1 Travel Reimbursement Policy for International Competitions

  1. All international students with a valid identity card of their respective educational institute are eligible to participate in Techfest 2008.

  2. The travel reimbursement policy is applicable only for Micromouse, Pixel and Full Throttle: Grand Prix. Note, no travel reimbursement will be provided for Blitzkrieg.

  3. Students need to register for the competition and mail the completed Personal Particulars Form to be considered for travel reimbursement provisions.

  4. Travel reimbursement will be given only to a limited number of international teams based on the elimination criteria of the respective competitions.

  5. Two participants per team will be provided reimbursements for economy class return airfare.

  6. Eligibility Criteria: Short listing of candidates for the travel reimbursement will be based on a video elimination round. This will involve submitting a video of the machine performing a part of the task. A detailed procedure regarding this elimination round is put up on the respective competition page.

  7. International participants need to send the abstract/video (competition specific) by 15th November 2007 to be considered for travel reimbursement provision.

  8. Short listed candidates qualified for the reimbursement will be informed through mail by 1st December 2007. The invitation from IIT Bombay would be mailed (electronically) as soon as clearance is received from the External Affairs Ministry of the Government of India. The same mail will carry all necessary details about the tickets to be purchased by the participants.

  10. All international participants who are willing to visit India on their own expenses may get the invitation from IIT Bombay, once we obtain the ministry clearance.

  11. Mailing the Personal Particulars Form for the above is necessary.
