2.1 Competition Details

The competition consists of 3 rounds. Duration of each round is 4 hours.

  1. Coding round: Teams will be given a set of problem statements at the start of the coding round. The task is to solve as many problem statements as possible in the stipulated amount of time.

    The program will be judged only on the basis of the correctness of its' input-output characteristics and it must execute in a stipulated period of time.

  2. Networking: In this round the participants will have to explore vulnerability in web pages. Teams will be given a series of tasks one after the other.

  3. Reversing: In this round the participants will be given a set of executables and the challenge is to reverse engineer those executables.


2.2 Elimination Details

  1. In the Elimination round the participants will be tested on the basis of their computer science knowledge and basic implementation skills.

  2. First elimination round: 26th to 28th October 2007.
    Second elimination round: 23rd to 25th November 2007.
    Third elimination round: 8th to 11th December 2007.
    Fourth elimination round: 21st to 23rd December 2007.
    Fifth elimination round: 4th to 6th January 2008.

  3. All elimination rounds are independent of each other. It is not compulsory to participate in all the rounds. Teams not selected in earlier rounds can prove their mettle in other rounds.

  4. Five different elimination rounds will be held. Best teams from each round will qualify for the final event to be held at Techfest 2008.

  5. Apart from the best teams, consistent performers shall also be selected for the finals as wild card entries.

  6. Teams which fail to perform the task in the specified time shall be given a zero score.

  7. For performing the tasks, teams are expected to work without any external help. Any teams violating this rule will be disqualified.
